Exercises to meet and beat the Cold

FYC Winter Frostbite races will be held on the Sundays of June 29, July 6^th and July 13^th.

Regatta costs are R10 per day or R25 for the 3 race series.

Racing starts at 11.00 am with three races per day planned – wind permitting. This series is a class handicap.

King of Clubs

Our team of three Sprog crews consisted of Sean and Warren Hadley, Gavin Smith and Ryan Hadley and Dave and Christopher Eastman.

The event took place at Benoni Sailing Club. A series of very short team races were held. The wind was good and the racing close. Our team finished 5^th.

Junior J22 Interclub

This event failed to take place over the weekend of 31 May/1 June at TYC due to a lack of any wind and the event was abandoned to be re-sailed at a later date.

The team this year were again a joint FYC/ERYC composition being Robert Dann, Robert Edwards, Gordon Hammond and David Naylor. Their prospects are better than ever this year due to their practices on the very green waters of Hartebeespoort.

Kerry Lee Winter Regatta

Gill Waiting showed the flag for Florida at this East Rand Regatta held on 7/8 June. Congratulations to Gill who again took home the gold medal in the Laser fleet. The only other Florida member there was Gordon Hammond. Unfortunately at least three boats are required before a club is eligible to win the Kerry Lee trophy.
