SYDNEY OLYMPICS, SEPTEMBER 2000

MATCH FOUR:  SOUTH AFRICA VS CHINA

Playing more constructive hockey in a much cleaner match in which no cards were shown, South Africa did well to beat China 1-0.  Having most of the first half attack, gaining three penalty corners to China's none.

From their first of two second half penalty corners, Jackie Geyser followed up to score.  China fought back strongly, but this goal had added determination to the South Africans and remaining calm and controlled, they withstood five penalty corners and the same number of shots at goal to hold out for their first win in Olympic competition.

MATCH THREE:  SOUTH AFRICA VS NEW ZEALAND

In a very physical match, with two South Africans being sent to the cooler, New Zealand scored a field goal in the second half to deny SA any hope of a medal position.

S.Africa could not utilise their penalty corner opportunities and with excellent defensive work from the N.Zealanders, were unable to score.

MATCH TWO:  SOUTH AFRICA VS HOLLAND

South Africa caused a major upset through pulling back from a 0-2 half time deficit to draw the match.  Having lost to China, this is a huge blow for Holland, the #2 ranked team in the world.

Holland scored when a South African defender barged a striker off the ball in the circle, incurring a penalty stroke.  Their second came when the ball went between the feet of the SA goalkeeper.

The commentator gave SA little hope, but first Pietie Coetzee scored from a penalty corner, then a touch deflection in the circle saw Alison Dare gaining the equaliser.

This was an excellent result for South Africa.

South Africa had nine shots at goal to eight and had five penalty corners to one, showing their attacking gameplan.

MATCH ONE:  SOUTH AFRICA VS GERMANY

South Africa began their first ever outing at the Olympics in fine style when Marilyn Agliotti came in from the right to the top of the "D," turned and stroked a reverse stick shot to score from the first foray into the circle.

Germany equalised seven minutes before half time when the striker with the ball near the left post hooked a pass back and Fanny Rinne had time to belt it into the net.  Half time 1-1.

Germany had eight shots at goal to S.Africa's two and led by two penalty corners to one.

Germany dominanted the second half, forcing the South Africans to defend continuously and it was almost inevitable that the sustained pressure would result in a goal.   Britta Becker netted from a penalty corner in the 12th minute to take the lead.  A dummy swing, a drag flick and the ball found the net.  The Germans maintained their dominance and allowed no attacks on their goal.

Germany had 7 shots at goal and three penalty corners without reply.
Easy For The Ntombis

Held to a 1-1 draw at the half by a very determined French team, the Easi Ntombis put on a strong showing in the second period to run out 5-1 winners in practice game at the Randburg Stadium this morning.

Goalscorers for SA: Anli Kotze, Karen Symons, Caryn Bentley, Karen Roberts and Marilyn Agliotti. Delphine Altayrac netted for the visitors.

With seven matches under the belt, the French tour squad depart Johannesburg for Paris tonight.
North West Equalise Late Against France

The sixth match of the tour was played at the Potchefstroom Stadium on Tuesday 29 August.  French striker Muriel Lazennec scored early to give the visitors a well earned 1-0 lead at half time.  Nadine Botes of North West equalised with six minutes remaining for the home side to achieve a creditable draw.

France take on the Easi Ntombis in a practice game at the Randburg Stadium at 10h30 on Thursday 31 August.
France Again Defeat The SA Juniors

France defeated the SA Juniors (U/20s) 1-0 at the Randburg Stadium on Saturday 26 August.   Stephanie Gomis converted from a penalty corner for the visitors to take the lead in the 45th minute.   The South Africans threw everything into attack but French keeper Maelle Loyot pulled-off some magnificent saves to prevent the home side from scoring.

The French tour squad travel to Potchefstroom on Tuesday 29 August for a match against North West and wrap-up their visit with a practice game against the SA Olympic team on Thursday 31 August.
SA Juniors Lose  2-1 To France

The SA Juniors (U20s) made a tentative start to the match but managed to thwart the French attack in the first period to go into the break without conceding a goal to the visitors.   Both teams put on stronger showings after the restart and Peggy Bergere opened the scoring in the 39th minute for the French to take a 1-0 lead.   The Juniors equalised ten minutes later through Elfrieda Maas, only to see Angelique Martin put France ahead again to run out 2-1 winners.   SA captain Grazjyna Engelbrecht had a great game in goal and will be looking to her charges to cut out the errors in the re-match at the Randburg Stadium on Saturday 26 August.
Southerns Upset France.

France lost their first match in three outings, going down 2-3 to national champions Southern Gauteng at the Randburg Stadium this evening, Wednesday 23 August.

Against the run of play, Southerns took the lead midway through the first half when Riette Laas (short-listed amongst the reserves for the SA Olympic team) beat the keeper from close range.  Ten minutes later, Carmen Fernandez found the net from a penalty corner rebound, for Southerns to go into the break with a two goal advantage over the visitors.   The French came back strongly and were rewarded for their efforts when Angelique Martin scored from a penalty corner in the fortieth minute.   Stephanie Gomis grabbed the equaliser with fifteen minutes remaining in the match.  Both sides had their opportunities to break the deadlock but it was Southerns' striker Carmen Fernandez who got the winning touch, beating the French defence with a superb deflection.

France take on the SA Juniors in two matches this weekend, 25 & 26 August.  Both matches start at 19h00 and will be played at the Randburg Stadium.
French Win First Match.

The French women's national squad won their opening match against Northern Gauteng 4-0 at the Pretoria Technikon today, 19 August.   Delphine Altayrac and Stephanie Gomis scored two apiece for the visitors.

The second match of the tour takes place at the same venue at 16.00 on Sunday 20 August.

France Strike Again

Northerns put on a stronger showing today, 20 August, but could not prevent the touring French squad from running out 2-0 winners at the Pretoria Technikon.   Angelique Martin and Aurelie Morin scored for the visitors. The French take on Southerns at 19.00 at the Randburg Stadium on Wednesday 23 August.

Easy Ntombis in Argentina.

FINAL MATCH.   The Easi Ntombis ended their short tour of Argentina on a positive note, playing out to a draw in the third and final test at the Quilmes Stadium on Monday 21 August.

The start of the match was delayed due to torrential rain.  With the scores tied 0-0 at the half, Susan Wessels converted from a penalty corner to put SA ahead, only to have Argentina level matters ten minutes later.   Both teams looked for the winning goal and the Ntombis were impressive in the second period but could not break the home team's defence.

On the downside, the SA camp was again hit by injury - top striker Pietie Coetzee has an ankle injury and will need need an x-ray on returning home today.
Easi Ntombis Lose On Tour In Argentina

The South Africans suffered their second defeat at the hands of Argentina, losing 4-0 in Rosario on Saturday, 19 August.

18 August - SA Go Down 1-3 To Argentina
South Africa went down 1-3 to Argentina in the first test played in Buenos Aires today, 17 August.
Although on the losing end, coach Gene Muller was not unhappy with the SA team's allround performance:   "We took the game to Argentina and went into the break with the scores level at 1-1.   Karen Symons scored for SA.  Sue Wessels was again in top form but we suffered a major blow within minutes of the restart when we lost key midfielder and vice-captain Kerry Bee with an ankle injury.   We were able to keep up the pressure and forced twice the number of penalty corners, 8 in all to Argentina's 4.   It was a pity that we could not convert these opportunities as we have been strong in this area in our recent matches.   Argentina's second goal came from a defensive error and their third was disputed."

Kerry Bee seems sure to be out for the remaining two matches but the extent of the injury will only be known after further examination.   The second international takes place inland in Rosario at 16h00 on Saturday 19 August.
15 August
The South Africans maintained their unbeaten record, defeating the Argentina U21s 5-2 in the second match of the tour played at the Cenard on Tuesday.

Pietie Coetzee again netted three goals to take her tally to six in two matches.   Said Gene Muller:   "We have yet to field our number one line-up as some of the players are still battling to shake off the flu and we are looking a bit jaded and mentally tired following the tough series against Spain.   How we cope in the three internationals will be a very good indicator of what we are made of.   The Argentina U21s are a top side and with home ground advantage will be a difficult team to beat at the Junior World Cup in May next year.   We dominated the game and they got two fairly soft goals from little possession."

The first test in the three match series is scheduled for 10.30 on Thursday 17 August.
13 August: The SA team beat Scotland 5-1 in a practice match late yesterday, with Pietie Coetzee scored a hattrick.

A few of the players are still battling with flu - Michele MacNaughton and Caryn Bentley have been particularly hard hit and did not take the park in the opening game of the tour.

The Easi Ntombis will be back in action on Tuesday 15 August when they play Argentina's junior (U21) team.   The first of the three tests in the series against Argentina takes place at the National Sports Centre in Buenos Aires on Thursday 17 August.   The teams will travel inland to Rosario for the second match at the Jockey Club on Saturday 19 August, which the Club has offered to host this match as part of its centenary celebrations.   The third and final test is scheduled for the Quilmes Stadium in Buenos Aires on Monday 21 August.

The SA team returns to Johannesburg at 07.20 on Wednesday 23 August and will enjoy a week-long and well earned break before assembling on 30 August for the holding camp at Esselen Park.

Women's International Series Against Spain.

FINAL MATCH:   Three goals in the first twenty minutes of the match effectively put paid to Spain's chances in the fifth and final test at Randburg on Tuesday 8 August.   Marilyn Agliotti, Karen Symons and Susan Wessels netted for the home team in quick succession.  Spain's lone reply came from Erdoitza Goikoetxea shortly before the half. Both teams failed to convert their opportunities in the second period and South Africa ran out 3-1 winners.

MATCH 4:   The Easi Ntombis clinched the 5 match series with a 1-0 victory over Spain in the 4th test at Randburg today, Sunday 6 August.

The home team's lone goal was scored by Lindsey Carlisle from a penalty stroke midway through the first half.  The Spaniards put on a strong showing in the second period but were unable to find their way through a determined defence.   Inke van Wyk excelled in goal for SA.

Castle Lite Player of the Match: Karen Roberts.

The 5th and final test will be played at the Randburg Stadium at 18h00 on Tuesday 8 August.
MATCH 3:
The Easi Ntombis came back from behind twice in the match to run out 3-2 winners in a tough game at Randburg.   With the scores level 1-1 at the half through goals by Silvia Munoz and Jacqui Geyser, Spain's Nurio Morena put the visitors ahead in the 51st minute.   Pietie Coetzee, who made a brief but welcome return to the SA team after an injury lay-off, equalised matters from a penalty corner minutes later.   Caryn Bentley netted the decisive goal with ten minutes remaining in the match.

Castle Lite Player of the Match:   Nuria Camon.

Umpires: Jean Buchanan (RSA) and Angela Lario (Esp).

The 4th & 5th matches in the series will be played at Randburg at 15h00 on Sunday 6 August and at 18h00 on Tuesday 8 August.   The visitors return home on 9 August and the Easi Ntombis will enjoy a short break before flying out on 12 August to Argentina for five matches.
MATCH 2:   In the second match of the series played in Potchefstroom on Thursday evening 3 August, the Easi-Ntombis beat the visitors 3-2.

South Africa scored early through Susan Wessels to end the first half 1-0 ahead and deservedly so.   Action goals by strikers Marilyn Agliotti and Karen Symons soon after the restart took SA to a comfortable 3-0 lead.   With nine minutes remaining in the game, Spain's key midfielder and captain Sonia de Ignacio-Simo, netted from close range and then hammered home a penalty corner to reduce SA's lead to a one goal margin.   Spain failed to convert a further pc on full-time so the home team go ahead in the series with three matches to play.

Castle Lite Player of the Match:   Susan Wessels.

Umpires:   Jean Buchanan (RSA) & Angela Lario (Spain).

Randburg hosts the next three matches:   18h00 on Friday 4 August, 15h00 on Sunday 6 August and 18h00 on Tuesday 8 August.
MATCH 1: The home team put on a good display in the first half.   Alison Dare opened the scoring in the twelth minute and Spain's lone strike by Nuria Moreno found its way passed Inke van Wyk in goal some three minutes later.  Midfielder Caryn Bentley netted again from a well-taken penalty corner to give South Africa a 2-1 lead at the break.

The second period was a much tighter affair with the visitors scoring midway from a penalty stroke to level matters.  Urged on by a large crowd and try as they could, the locals were unable to break the deadlock.

The captain of the Spanish side, Sonia de Ignacio-Simo, was named "Castle Lite Player of the Match" for her efforts.

Umpires:   Jean Buchanan (RSA) and Angela Lario (Esp).

The second match in the five test series takes place in Potchefstroom at 17h30 on Thursday 3 August.

SA JUNIORS TOPPLE FRANCE & ENGLAND, BUT LOSE TO THE NETHERLANDS

Report 4:  The SA junior men's team went down 1-4 in their final tour match against the Netherlands in Madrid.   Grant Clark scored SA's lone goal in the first period for the formidable Dutch outfit to take a 2-1 lead at half time.   The weary tourists conceded two further goals.

At the invitation of the Spanish Hockey Federation, the South Africans will have an opportunity of watching the opening matches of the European Nations Cup for Junior Men on 16 & 17 July before returning home.

Report 3:  The South African junior men's team put on another good display today, 13th July, but in the end were unable to hold-out for a draw against their hosts Spain.   With the scores level 1-1 at half time, SA lost the match 2-3. Reece Basson and Grant James again netted for SA.

Report 2:  The South African junior (U/20) men's hockey team continued their winning streak today, defeating England 4-3.

Down 1-3 at half time following a hattrick by English striker Martin Jones and a lone goal by Barry-John Wilson, South Africa converted three field chances in the second period.   Reece Basson, Wilson (his second of the match) and Grant James ensured a hard-earned victory for the touring team.

South Africa take on hosts Spain at 12.00 on Thursday 13th July and play their final match against the Netherlands at 19.30 on Friday 14th July.

Report 1:  The South African junior (U/20) men's hockey team have had a great start to their short tour to Madrid, winning the first of the two warm-up games against Spanish national first division side CD Complutense 3-1 and drawing the second 2-2.   Grant James, Barry-John Wilson and Reece Basson scored in the opener and John McInroy and Dale Isaac netted in the re-match on Sunday 9th July.

The first test in the series of internationals against teams contesting the upcoming Junior European Nations Cup (A Division) was played late yesterday against France.   Down 0-1 at the half, SA came back strongly to run out 6-1 winners.   Grant James and Thami Tsolekile found the net from field play early in the second period and Barry-John Wilson and Ian Symons, with two goals apiece, completed the scoring.

Team officials Charles Smith and Kevin Sutcliffe were thrilled about the team's performance but cautioned "There are still three very tough matches ahead against top-flight opponents England, hosts Spain and the Netherlands.   The fact that these matches will be played on consecutive days will present a huge challenge to the SA squad."

Clare Digby, SAHA President, endorsed these views and expressed the hope that the team would sustain its good showing and results.   "This group of players has had next to no international exposure over the past three or four years and this tour is about gaining experience in the build-up to the Junior Africa Cup of Nations which will be hosted by our Association in March 2001.  The JAC is the continental qualifier for the next Junior World Cup in Hobart in October 2001.  We missed the cut in 1997 and it's vital that we get to compete on the world stage next year".
Clare Digby, SAHA

2nd test       10.30, Thursday 4 May
3rd test       16.00, Sunday 7 May

Details are sketchy, but Argentina beat S.Africa 4-1 in the second test and Argentina scored with five minutes remaining to draw the third 2-2.

Fourth & Final Test:  Argentina scored twice against the run of play shortly after the break, but the SA team came back strongly to level the scores, two goals apiece.   Marilyn Agliotti and Caryn Bentley netted for the Easi-HR Proteas.

Argentina win the 4 match series, 2-0.

4th Test SA v Wales, 21 August

South Africa produced an outstanding first half display to take a 7-0 lead after only 35 minutes.   The goals came from Pietie Coetzee (2), Caryn Bentley (2), Kerry Bee, Anli Kotze and Alison Dare.   Captain Karen Roberts and striker Marilyn Agliotti added a further two goals to the home side's tally in the second half before Lynda Watkin scored a consolation penalty corner goal for the visitors.

Umpires:   Carol Green (Wales) & Mary Parr (RSA).

Castle Lite Player of the Match:    Kerry Bee

South Africa's captain Karen Roberts was named Castle Lite Player of the Series.

5th Test SA v India, 21 August

Dinesh Nayak converted a penalty corner to put India 1-0 ahead with only two minutes to go in the half.   This setback seemed to spur on the South Africans who came out strongly in the second period.  Ace striker Greg Nicol levelled the scores  midway through the second period and a minute later put the home side into a 2-1 lead.   Try as they might, the visitors could not find the equaliser.   South Africa can be proud of their resounding 3-0 win in the 5 match series.

Umpires:     Clive McMurray (RSA) & John Wright (RSA).

Castle Lite Player of the Match:     Justin King.   The KZN defender was also named Castle Lite Player of the Series.

3rd Test SA v Wales, 19 August

The SA women's team notched-up an unconvincing 2-0 win over their counterparts from Wales in the first match this evening.   Pietie Coetzee collected a pinpoint cross from Alison Dare on the left to put the home side ahead with five minutes to go in the half.   A determined and well organised Welsh team kept the South Africans at bay until the final minute of the game when Marilyn Agliotti scored from close range.   The visitors, ably led by Lynda Watkin playing in her 100th international, can take heart from their performance.

Castle Lite Player of the Match:  Michelle Thomas (In goal for Wales).

Umpires:  Carol Green (Wales) & Clare Digby (RSA).

4th Test SA v India, 19 August

India took an early 2-0 lead through goals by Gagan Ajit Singh and Kamal Horo only to see the South Africans fight their way back into the match.  Greg Nicol got one back for the locals from a well-taken penalty corner with five minutes to go in the half.   Twelve minutes into the second period, SA levelled the scores through Craig Fulton, following a good break down the right by Brad Michalaro.   Both teams battled for the winning goal in the last twenty minutes but had to settle for a tie.   South Africa take an unassailable two nil lead in the five match series with one to play.

Castle Lite Player of the Match:  Brian Myburgh (RSA).

Umpires:  Clive McMurray (RSA) & John Wright (RSA).

The final matches in the men's and women's series will be screened live on Supersport between 12h30 and 15h45 on Saturday 21 August.

Three matches were played at the Randburg Stadium today, 17 August:

In the first game of the day, the South African Women's U/21 Team took on the Welsh touring side.   This was a closely fought game and with the teams tied 1-1 at the half through goals by Andrea Gordon and Jacqui Davies, it was left to Sharne Wehmeyer to clinch victory for the home side midway through the second period.

Umpires: Carol Green (Wales) & Lesley Nunn (RSA).

South Africa played Zimbabwe in a one-off test and got off to a flying start through a well-taken goal by Alison Dare in the opening minute.  Pietie Coetzee notched-up a hat-trick of goals and Caryn Bentley her first of a tally of four, for SA to take a comfortable 5-0 lead at half-time. Karen Symons also netted to earn the home team a 9-0 victory.

Castle Lite Player of the Match:  Ilse Coetzee (Goalkeeper for Zimbabwe).

Umpires:  Mary Parr (RSA) & Clare Digby (RSA).

The South African men's side put on their best showing in some time, convincingly beating India 4-1.   SA  took an early lead through Greg Nicol in the 5th minute.   Nicol was to find the net again shortly after the restart to give the home side a 2-0 advantage.   Prabakaran got one back only for Justin King of SA to restore the lead with a well-executed flick from a penalty corner in the 44th minute.   With ten minutes remaining, Craig Fulton, recalled to the team in the place of the injured Steve Evans, scored South Africa's final goal of the match from a great solo effort.

Castle Lite Player of the Match: Justin King (RSA).

Umpires: Derek Fraser (RSA) & John Wright (RSA).

The next matches in the series take place at Randburg on Thursday 19 August.

WALES VS ZIMBABWE

The touring Welsh and Zimbabwean teams met in a one-off international at Randburg on Monday evening.   Wales won the encounter 4-1.   Captain Lynda Watkin, playing in her 99th test for Wales, earned the Castle Lite player of the match award.

Umpires:  Carol Green (Wales) & Mary Parr (RSA).

The Welsh take-on the SA U/21s tomorrow, 17 August, in the curtain-raiser to the women's international between SA and Zimbabwe and the third test in the series between SA and India.

The SA U/18 and U/16 boys and girls teams returned from a successful week-long tour of Zimbabwe on Sunday 15 August.

The RAU men's first team flew out of Johannesburg today on a short tour to Malaysia.

Craig Fulton, with 80-odd caps to his credit, has been called-up to replace the injured Steve Evans for the 5 test series against India.

Second Test: SA v Wales, Randburg, 14 August

SA v Wales: Second Test, Randburg, 15 August

South Africa started strongly to find themselves 4-0 up at the half time break through goals by Kerry Bee (2) and Pietie Coetzee (2).   The Welsh fought back gamely but conceded a further two goals to the home side (Caryn Bentley and Pietie Coetzee - her third of the match) before getting on the scoresheet.   Captain of Wales, Lynda Watkins, playing in her 98th international, scored from a penalty corner in the 57th minute.   Lindsey Carlisle completed the tally for South Africa.

Final score SA 7   Wales 1

Castle Lite Player of the Match: Kerry Bee (RSA).

Umpires: Carol Green (Wales) & Clare Digby (RSA).

SA v India: Second Test, Randburg, 15 August

India took an early lead through a goal by Samir Dad in the 8th minute and it was only on the stroke of half time that the South Africans were able to equalise from a penalty corner variation by Justin King.   The second period was an evenly contested and at times ill-tempered affair, with the home side showing great composure in defence to thwart the Indian attack.   In the 51st minute, Mike Cullen put SA 2-1 ahead to complete the scoring in the match and to give the South African team a well-earned victory.

Final score SA 2   India 1

Castle Lite Player of the Match: Gregg Clark (RSA).

Umpires: Derek Fraser (RSA) & John Wright (RSA).

First Test: SA v Wales, Randburg, 13 August

The home team made a slow start against their less fancied opponents to find themselves 0-0 at the half.   In the second period, South Africa gained the upper hand and opened the scoring early on through Pietie Coetzee.   The in-form striker soon after scored her second of the match.   Captain Karen Roberts netted the third and Kerry Bee completed the scoring to earn SA a 4-0 win over the Welsh side.

Castle Lite Player of the Match: Karen Roberts.

Umpires: Carol Green (Wales) & Mary Parr (RSA).

First Test: SA v India, Randburg, 13 August

With seven players suffering from the ill-effects of a viral infection, the South African team showed tremendous fighting spirit in taking the game to the visitors.   Though the locals tested Indian 'keeper Edward Aloysius to the limit on a number of occasions, neither team troubled the scorers in either half and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Castle Lite Player of the Match: Craig Jackson.

Umpires: John Wright (RSA) & Zain McLaren (RSA).

Ali Dare was named "Player of the Tournament" at the conclusion of the Spar Women's IPT in Pretoria on Saturday 31 July.   Pietie Coetzee claimed the honour of "Top Goalscorer" at the Spar IPT, with twelve goals in five matches.

SA MEN'S TWO-TEST SERIES AGAINST ZIMBABWE

The South African men's team scored a resounding 14-0 victory over their counterparts from Zimbabwe in the second and final test played at Parktown Boys' High School in Johannesburg today.   Goalscorers for SA: Mike Cullen (3), Greg Nicol (4), Emile Smith (2), Gareth Murray (2), Justin King (2) and Craig Fulton (1).

Zimbabwe fielded an unchanged squad from that which did duty in the first test.   The home side made two changes, introducing Rorie Wilson for Darren Gallagher and substituting Dave Viney for Wayne Denne who was ruled out of the match through injury.

Umpires: Kirrit Patel (Zimbabwe) and Mike Bolel (RSA).

Man of the Match: Emile Smith.

The SA squad players will now enjoy a 10-day break before assembling in Port Elizabeth to compete in their provincial teams for top honours at the Nedbank Shield from 20-24 July.

The first match in the two test men's series was played at the new stadium at Parktown Boys' High School this afternoon, Thursday 8 July.

The South African team made a tentative start against their lower-ranked neighbours to end the first half 2-0 ahead, courtesy of goals by Mike Cullen and Greg Nicol.   In the second period, the home side put on a much stronger showing, scoring a further 4 goals without reply.   Nicol hammered-in a second, Wayne Denne notched 2 and Gregg Clark 1, to complete the scoresheet for SA.   But for the valiant efforts of Zimbabwe's 'keeper Sarfaraaz Moosa, SA's tally might have been higher.

Keepers Chris Hibbert and Simon Martin and EP-based Jody Paul gained their first senior international caps for SA and will be hoping for selection for the second match on Saturday 10 July.   Others in the SA team: Craig Jackson (Captain), Warren Bond, Craig Fulton, Brad Michalaro, Gregg Clark, Gareth Murray, Emile Smith, Mike Cullen, Wayne Denne, Justin King, Greg Nicol, Steve Evans and Darren Gallagher.

Zimbabwe:   Sarfaraaz Moosa, Chris Bloodworth, Jitendra Jasmat, Kevin Nicholson, Mike McKillop, Shepherd Viriri, Antony Burgess, Denton Rawson, Matthew Hammet, Dave Hurst, Nathan Sundayi, Taurai Chikonye, Tim Greenway, Ncosilathi Ndlovu and Warren Gilmour.

Umpires:   John Wright (SA) and Kirrit Patel (Zimbabwe).

Man of the Match: Wayne Denne (SA).
