SOLAR DESALINATION PLANTS Some places around the world have an abundance of sunshine but very little surface water available. We at RSE Projects believe that the bulk of future water supplies is going to be made up of small plants desalinating sufficient ground water for a small community or cattle post. Using an extremely energy efficient pumping system, RSE Projects brings you the Bracksol water purification process. This process uses a combination of reverse osmosis, solar and generator power to supply one with 750 l/day and 1500 l/day of potable water from any saline source. The system operates directly off a 12 volt source, so there is no energy wasted in the transfer of 12 volts to 220 volts etc. Generator back-up in the form of a petrol or diesel generator supplements the supply of electricity when the sun has gone down. The generator starts and stops automatically keeping operator maintenence to a minimum. The plant is completely self-contained and designed for use in a harsh environment. The plants require minimum maintenence on a monthly basis, and the membranes require cleaning approximately once a year. On the 750 l/day plant, electrical consumption varies between 6,5 and 8 amps depending on the salinity of the water and the temperature thereof. Thus these plants are also ideal for use by the off-road enthusiast.
The benefits of the Bracksol plants are as follows:
