Dear Friends and Customers,

Time for another newsletter! Once again Christmas is just around the corner. Do you remember last year I held a Christmas decoration competition? Well, I would like to do the same again. This year I want to hold two separate competitions - one for tree decorations and another for larger Christmas projects. I hope many of you will take part. I would like everyone to make a Christmas decoration using any form of needlework (eg cross stitch, quilting, goldwork, blackwork, knitting -use your imagination!). I will have a Christmas tree in the shop and we will decorate the tree with all these decorations. I will need to receive the decorations by 22 November. From 23 November you, the customers, will vote for the winning decoration. Voting will end on 8 December. There will be a first, second and third prize. Please take part. You will be able to get your decoration back in plenty of time for Christmas.

Please take note of my hours. I am open from 9am to 4pm on Tuesdays to Fridays and 9am to 12 noon on Saturdays. I am closed on Mondays and public holidays. I will close at 12 noon on 22 December and reopen on 8 January at 9am.
Please note that the sale days for the next few months are:

At this time of year the children are all involved with exams. Casey is ending his second year at university, Natalie is writing matric and Kerry is finishing off grade 6. Poor Kerry only starts writing when the older two finish. Next year we will have two 'varsity students and one primary school child in this family. Chris has some indigenous plants for sale at the moment. If you are looking for something specific, please let him know and he will see what he can do for you.

Chris and Natalie have designed a pattern for this newsletter. Something to stitch for your child's favourite teacher! Have fun and use the colours that appeal to you. Perhaps two shades of blue for the flower border and a variegated red for the writing - try something from House of Embroidery

I would like to email my newsletter to as many of you as possible. If you do have an email address but receive this letter through the post, please let me have your e-mail address.

Happy stitching

Nadine
