The created mind which is the essential 'you' takes on a spiritual body. The mind however still controls the spirit body in much the same way as the brain controls the physical body. Everything you have done in your lifetime is stored in in the physical brain and can be recalled as memory, while everything that the spirit body has experienced and learnt throughout all its incarnations is stored in the mind. Normal contact with the brain in the conscious state is known as consciousness, while contacting the mind while the brain is in an unconscious state is known as subconsciousness. It is this mind which is contacted while under hypnosis, in a trance or during meditation. Although the brain is being controlled and helped by the mind it is not aware of the mind's existence nor is the brain generally in free contact with it. During meditation, the brain is bypassed and the mind contacted directly. The brain is in control during waking hours, but at night the brain rests. The mind on the other hand does not get tired and while it's noisy ignorant counterpart is resting, the mind can get on with it's work in peace. We sometimes do recall the mind's work when we wake up although we know it better as 'dreaming'. As time goes by the brain forgets irrelevant things learnt which are no longer of importance. The mind however never forgets anything and the information contained in it will carry on for all eternity and is the reason for our being here.
What is meditation?
How To Meditate
When all is prepared, sit comfortably in your chair, close your eyes and allow yourself to become used to the change in light. Take a slow deep breath in, hold it for a second, and slowly release. Repeat. Feel yourself relax, and allow that to happen, feel the tension sliding out through your body. Empty your mind of every day thoughts; this takes PRACTICE! Do not give up if you get stuck at this spot. Sometimes it helps to visualise an object or a colour, say violet, in your mind. Hold on to that object or colour. This assists with reducing the flow of everyday thoughts. Allow yourself to focus on your breathing, hear yourself breathing in, then out, in then out. Think about nothing but your breathing. You may become aware of your body becoming different, as it relaxes, enjoy the sensation, do not be afraid of it. It is your body relaxing and releasing tension. Maintain this state of being as long as you can, gradually, as you practice, it will become stronger, and you will relax further. Enjoy the experience, and practice as often as time permits starting off preferably with not more than three times a week, fifteen minutes a day and then steadily increasing as you become more practised.

Examples of Meditation
The Waterfall Meditation (a healing meditation)
Meditation essentially is a method whereby your physical brain is aligned with your subconscious mind stabilising your bodies. This enables ideas and messages to pass more freely from the spiritual mind to the physical brain. It is ordinarily not possible to be consciously in touch with your subconscious mind due to all the 'noise' going through your head. If you ever stop for a minute and without trying to control your thoughts, just detach yourself and have a look at what you are thinking, you will be surprised how much 'junk' passes through your head. Meditation ultimately not only lets you control your thoughts and eliminates the 'noise' but empties your mind, ready to receive spiritual information. Meditation is also ideal for physical reaxation and is the reason why first time meditators often fall asleep.
Choose the environment carefully making sure that you won't be interrupted. Disconnect the phone, etc. Choose a comfortable place to sit, either on a chair, or a cushion. What ever suits you best will work the best. Next choose soothing music to play if you want; music helps to block out the background noises that can be distracting. Make sure that your chosen area is dimly lit, as this has a calming effect, aids relaxation and minimises distractions. Lighting a candle can often help.
People do it, or try to, for many reasons. It can be very relaxing and calming as you sit quietly. It is also great for the control of stress. To empty ones mind of the day to day thoughts and put them on hold for a time is very satisfying. It is also helpful to gain an understanding of your inner self as you slowly grow to understand your mind better, through silence. Silence is a valuable teacher. To be able to block out the outside world, even for a short time, can be uplifting. To be able to let thoughts go completely, if they are not longer wanted, is true progress. Meditation can also provide evidence of life after death, which can be incredibly reassuring. It proves that when we die, and leave our earth body, that our spirit continues on and grows as it learns new things
So, the benefits of meditation are plentiful, these are only a few.
There are 7 main chakra points in your body, and essentially they follow the line of your spine. Visualise these energy centres as balls of coloured light. It is these energy centres that can have you feeling off centre, if they are out of alignment. Relax and sit comfortably, feeling your feet firmly on the ground knowing that you are safe, and that your guides are with you. Take a slow deep breath in, and out, in and out. Feel all parts of your body relax. Start with your toes, slowly working your way up your body, until all parts feel fluid.
You will now feel more balanced and at peace within your self.

So this rainbow coloured water continues on its path out to sea, doing it's work on its way. If you know of people who are sick or in need of healing, then visualise them lining the banks of the river, and allowing the rainbow coloured water to touch them. See them being cleansed. You can visualise any one at all lining up along the banks of the river, or around the shoreline of the ocean, to be touched by this special water, it comes to you with love. You can visualise whole countries being touched by the rainbow coloured water. Know that it is doing good, know that the healing is getting through.
