Contact my
surgery by e-mail, fax or telephone indicating what
procedure/s you are interested in and indicate the date of
surgery which would be most suitable. Four to six weeks
notice would usually be adequate.
I will then
indicate whether I can accommodate you on the specific day.
If I can't accommodate you, I will indicate on which dates I
can.
You must then
book a flight to Johannesburg International Airport and let
us know when you will arrive. This should be approximately 2
to 3 days prior to surgery.
You will then
be taken to your accommodation and checked in. I will meet
you as soon as you are rested and refreshed and I will asses
you prior to surgery. This will be performed on the following
day.
After surgery,
you will spend the night in hospital and when you are well
enough, you will go back to your accomodation the next day to
rest and recover.
Depending on
your rate of recovery, you may elect to go and spend some
time relaxing at one of the many beautiful
resorts in South Africa. This can be arranged
on request.
It is
difficult to determine the exact recovery rate for any one
patient. Some people recover a lot faster than others and
would be ready to travel sooner. On average, patients take
about seven to ten days to heal well enough to travel.
