Saule: Latvian Sun and Fertility Goddess

If you consider yourself to be unlucky and an orphan, this is the goddess to seek out. Not only is Saule the Latvian Sun Goddess and a fertility goddess, but she is also the patron of those less fortunate and orphans.

Saule likes to hang out on a heavenly mountain top and in the sky during the day where she sails in her chariot. At night she sails in a boat somewhere over the world sea. Her husband is Meness the Moon God.

Saule is somehow associated with snakes and on the 25th of January the Lithuanians celebrates the "Day of Serpents", preparing dishes for snakes and inviting them into their homes.
