The Saturs

The Saturs: Wild spirits

The Saturs are wild spirits of the Greek and Roman woodlands. Unlike their Celtic counterparts, they are not pretty creatures and their physical appearance reflects those of horses and goats.

They are known to play silly tricks on men and often chase nymphs through the forest.

Despite their appearance, the Saturs are party animals and thus were thick as thieves with Dionysus, the Greek god of vegetation, wine and ecstasy.
