Nike: Greek Goddess of Victory

Nike is the Greek goddess of victory and have the dubious honour of a brand of sport shoes named after her. The assumed connection is probably fleet footedness, but the real Nike uses wings, rather than her feet, to get around fast.

The second connection to modern day symbolism is that Christian angels are moddelled on the winged Nike.

She is the daughter of the giant Pallas and the river Styx, but is sometimes associated with Pallas Athena (in winged format though).

Nike is mostly found close to Zeus as the family earned Zeus' favour when Styx responded (with her children) to the Olympian Lightener's call for assistance to fight against the Titans.
