Anu: Irish Mother Goddess
Anu is the mother goddess of the Irish. She is also known as Danu and Dana and she is the mother to the Tuatha De Danan, "people of the goddess Dana" and the old gods and goddesses of Ireland.
Not much is known of this once powerful goddess, as the Celts did not believe in writing down their ancient history. This was only partially done by later monks who had their own agenda, concentrating on the stories of males and warriors.
The two hills in Muster, known as "The Paps of Anu" is thus named as they symbolize Anu's breasts.
