Sizwe

Sizwe is a baby boy aged about one year. In August 2002, when four months old, he was taken from his mother and placed in a KwaZulu Natal home for Aids orphans, not because his parents have Aids but because it was the only safe place that could be found.

Sizwe was intentionally burned by his mother. There seems to have been no investigation of this criminal matter by the police. His head and hands were burned. He is disfigured, unable to close his eyes, and his ears are misshapen. He has siblings and he laughs and smiles despite his injuries.

The ideal solution for Sizwe would be for a financially well off family which is reasonably educated and able to access hospital facilities, to adopt him.
