Situated within the rolling hills of the Mpumalanga escarpment, only two-and-a-half hours from Johannesburg lies the historic town of Waterval Boven.
Home to a thriving trout fishing Club, visitors to the region can explore to their heart's content two well-stocked trout dams literally on their doorstep as well as some lovely beats of the Elands River, which host both wild and stocked rainbow trout.
The view of the town from the pleasant banks of one of the Club dams.
Boven Cottage, situated conveniently close to the river and dams offers clean, comfortable self-catering accommodation for flyfishers and their families or those simply keen to explore the other treasures of Boven.
Success at the one of the Club dams
A river flyfisher plys his trade on one of the weirs of the Elands River near town.
While the cottage is only three minutes from the town shops, guests enjoy their own privacy - and can even see the trout dams from the front veranda.
There are two double en-suite rooms with amenities such as fridge and microwave. Simply bring your own fishing gear, food and towels (linen provided).
