The League of Researchers of SA Historical Battlefields (LOROSAHB),
in association with Sakabula Tours consists of noted post-graduate
historians, curators, military archivists and military battlefield specialists.
Its members are accredited by the South African Tourism Board (SATOUR);
the National Monuments Council (NMC); the South African Museum Association
(SAMA); the South African Society for Cultural History (SASCH) and the
South African Military History Consultants. (SAMHIC).
Tour packages researched, tried and tested by LOROSAHB offer a unique,
tailor-made touring adventure, supported with pre-arranged first-class
accommodation and transport at reasonable rates. Come and witness the buildup
to, and the commemoration of the Anglo-Boer War Centenary with an expert
from LOROSAHB, and take part in an experience not to be found in another
100 years!
MAIN FUNCTIONS OF LOROSAHB ARE:
- The organizing of tours to historical battlefields throughout SA
- The researching, on a commission basis, of various aspects regarding
military battlefields and sites.
- The development of hitherto neglected battlefield sites as tourist attractions
- Liaison between SA military and cultural historical museums and those
abroad
- To act as a news platform for the publication of hitherto unpublished
historical material regarding battlefields, sites and historical military
related material.
