Most often, curtain tie-backs consist of a simple brass hook screwed into the wall, or at best a metal bracket with some elaborate design. These turned wooden tie-backs allow you to demonstrate to SWMBO just how essential your workshop full of equipment is! A combination of faceplate and spindle turning, this is a good exercise piece.

Materials

Any suitable hardwood may be used. I prefer a wood with bold grain. However, if you are into colouring, this may be a good project to apply varying colours. For each tie-back, you will need two pieces of wood, the base being 75mmx75mmx25mm, and the spindle 100mmx25mmx25mm. You will also need some hot-melt glue or epoxy glue, and a nail-plug.
