is Walter Cary, I was in Bracken High from 1980 - 1984 finished in std 8
and then went to Joubert Park Technical. I owned many restaurants which I sold
all in 1994 and then joined Liberty and am now one of the top 20 in
South Africa Agency. I have two beautiful children Damian(13) and Megan (9) and
my lovely wife Samantha. As I was a bit rough in those days I find remembering
peoples name hazy and difficult. Now I am older and wiser, fatter and balder,

I work for Staples UK ( office supplies ) as a General Manager, and have been in this field of retail since leaving school. Wow, the
years have definitely FLOWN BY!!! How
does one sum up all these years into one small email? Well here goes… Business
is doing well (Southern Lifts & Escalator Erectors (Pty) ltd…is the name of
my company, we design and manufacture

etc… I have been married for two years
now and have just received the most wonderful news that I am soon to be a
daddy!!! I will never forget the valuable lessons which Mrs. Marais (Art)
taught us, one of which was to find our inner talents and use them to our
fullest. Another lesson was to put our trust in God. I sincerely hope that all
of you Class of ’99 are doing well and hope to hear from an ‘old friend’ soon.

me) and I matriculated in 1999 straight after my matric farewell I went
overseas to Grease and then off to the UK since then I have returned and I am
working in Alrode at Gasket Manufacturing Corporation PTY LTD
as a Main Stores and Despatch Manager which can be stressful at times .I spend
most of my time at work as this job demands long hours. I have been with the
company for 8 years now and things are going well. I , recently , have bought a
stand and I am planning to build my house on it one day when I am not at work.
I cant believe that time has gone so fast and that I can remember the names but
not the faces . I think the most prominent thing for me that I remember about
Bracken is the Athletics , Mrs Marais (and Mux) and Mr Mckelvin’s speeches and
that if you actually took some time to listen , you would have found some

Lesley Rogers (Nee Giffen) Matriculated in 84 along with Garth

Lesley Giffen (finally married at the age of 34 and am now a Rogers) Matriculated in

Keith Pugin. Funny how reading through the names
brings back all the old memories as if it was yesterday! It's hard to believe
it was so long ago that we were in school - where we all thought we were so
"adult" and were ready to take on the world...but not quite! I left
school at the end of std 9 in 1987/8, when I went on to study my technical
diploma at JHB Tech. After qualifying in electronics and communications, I did
my military training in 1993 where I taught myself how to handbrake-turn a 17
ton Raatle! Obviously Mr Kc Kelvin and Mr. Steyn didn't give me enough
"Jacks" - of which I'm pretty sure they will both remember me well
for! I now work as a Systems designer and project manager doing stage lighting,
Audio-visual and control systems in Northcliff and live in Kempton Park. It
would be great to hear from Tammy Jackson, Andrew Green, Barbara Kerr, Erika
Groome, Kerry and Mandy Temlett, Louis Torres, Edward Lopez, Faith Du Plessis,

Nel (Nee Rasch) Hi All, I matriculated in 1998. Was friends with Danielle
Harvey, Monique Hanekom, and Teresa Smith Dack. Left school and started working
the following year 1999 at an IT company called Wang Global have been with them
ever since doing all sorts of things in the IT world. Currently I am a Service
Delivery Administrator for the department working in a technical environment
with Cisco equipment. It’s currently known as Bytes Technology Group. I got
married last year November (2006) to a guy that I met at work, have been
together since 2001. Have no kids yet, might think about that sometime next
year. My husband is a Sun Microsystems UNIX System administrator for Wesbank. I
currently live in Roodepoort but still visit Alberton quite often as most of my

Charmaine Oosthuizen (nee Froneman), matriculated in '98 - can't believe it's almost 10 years
now ! I married Tyron Oosthuizen (class of '94) in 2003 and we currently have a
beautiful little girl Amber who turns 2 in August. Planning for the next one
now. We are now living in Auckland, New Zealand, loving every minute of it
here. Tyron works as a computer programmer, and I'm a stay at home mom at the
moment. However busy finishing off my Horse Riding instructor course and then
going to be teaching beginners to ride, and then plan to open my own horse

Hey hey I finally made it on here! :o) It's me Lyndon Venter, didn't quite make it to the fuller top wish I did, I ended in grd 10
(I think it was 2003)... yeah age catching up to me! Not married.. (Yet), Not
divorced either.... No little Lyndon's running around aswell. I further went on
to Alberton College and Achieved my N3 Electrical Engineering, then studied
Sound Engineering, then.. Then... then...
Now I'm currently working as a branch manager (Talk about making your

Glenda Lintvelt (nee: Kroukamp), Hi all, I
left Bracken during standard 8 and would have matriculated in 93".
Unfortunately not one of the most popular girls in my time at Bracken, (a
little too wierd for most people's tastes) I left to go to the JHB school of
Arts where my crazy personality finally fit in. I am now a graphic and fashion
designer, still living in SA and staying in Melville, JHB with my hubby
whom I met 12 years ago but only married in 2005. We have now been joined by
our gorgeous little baby Gizelle who has just turned a year old.

its been a while since I've even thought of school... well, my name is Gareth Gruneberg, I matriculated in 2001 along with
many other hooligans... ;) since then I have completed my BA Degree
in Multimedia Design & Graphic Design through Nottingham Trent University
in the UK.. Spent many nights ripping the roof off of the Doors
Nightclub with Neil Breslin Lu Anthony and co.. Worked in the Design
industry for a while and then moved on ro work for ReMax
doing Estate Agent work.. And now having had my fill of parties
and sponging off my wonderful parentals, I'm currently living in the UK
with my soon-to-be Wife and am eagerly expecting my first child to be born

Hi, this is Natasha Schoultz from the class of 97. I finished
High School and immediatly started studying a degree in Jornalism at
RAU (now UJ). I went on to do my honours degree in English Literature, which I have
a passion for and love! After finishing 5 years at university I left South
Africa in December 2002 and spent a few months in London. April 2003 God told
me to move to South Korea (Asia). I have been living in South Korea ever since
(it's been 4 years now) and I teach Business English in different companies...
it is so much fun and I get to meet so many really cool people. I am not
married yet and don't have any kids, but I do have an amazing Canadian

its controversy these days as to who is doing what?, how some
have turned out?, and are they still with us ? my story is plain and
simple with a whole lot and suffering that have gone with the good experiences
as I have endured. I am currently working and living in London, working as a
Test Analyst, still single (as my impeded stupidity I can not find the right
girl and keep running into snares and traps of the devil), allot has changed
for me, I realise I am a sinner and the chief of, and those that knew/know me
will agree to this as of past behaviour. its due to the understanding that I am
the chief of sinners and that has made me look unto Christ for refuge from
The All Mighty Jehovah's judgement against sin. I now look back at my past and
realise how I got this far and how it will work out, the truth is we don't
know, but I know Jehovah is Sovereign.

Well, I went to RAU where I got my degree in Audio Visual Production Management
(not as complicated as it sounds). Whereafter I went to the UK with a few
friends for 2 1/2 years, living in London. There I met my boyfriend. Its now
been 6 months since we'v been back. I am working at Caxton Urban Newspapers as
a Marketing and Sales Exec. Totally loveing the advertising world!!! Im still
friends with Allison Budde and shes doing very well.My best friend is
getting married in June and it turns out her cousins, Neil Wilson & Co,
were in matric with me....what a small world. Hope that everyone is

Actually wanted to find out when our big 10 year
reunion would be ( Man its been ages huh!)
but might as well do some shameless plugging too!! I've been in four
continents so far backpacking (Geography teachers should be happy.) Never really settled down, still haven't
given in to
'responsibility' just yet. I co-founded an
independant record label based in Glasgow, basically to
launch our own music. Never gave up on
Living the Dream!! I suppose the only thing that changed was actually making
concrete steps to actually achieving the Dream. Im getting far too carried away
here, better stop writing.
I do miss the great High of Bracken, and
all the faces down the hall ways, and endless life lessons. So hopefully
someone can let me (and all the other awesome '97s) know when our reunion is.

Mark Mitterdorfer here from the class of '96. Completed university
studies in Computer Science in '99 and shortly thereafter moved with my family
to Graz, Austria. Continued with my studies in Mathematics(!) with Open
University and took up a job with a firm developing simulation software for the
automotive industry. My sisters Lara and Natalie received their honours in
business management with Lara being asked to continue postgrad. Natalie is
working with my father in India doing project management for a
steel manufacturer and Lara a logistics manager for a pharmaceutical
company in Innsbruck.
In
2004 I moved over to London to develop electronic equity trading systems for a

Faith Hill ( Du Plessis) Good to see
site is up and running, and am feeling rather strange looking at familiar
names. I matriculated in 1989 and started a ten year flying career as an
airhostess with Flitestar and later SAA.
So, have travelled extensively. Got married and later divorced, and have had
no children. Since leaving flying have started a company of my
own designing, creating and manufacturing product primarily for the liquor
industry. I also have a homeware range that I will be marketing this year.

our family had just arrived in S.A from England. I managed to stay and
matriculate in 1984- we made history , the first matriculants!!! I returned
to England in 1998 after
working in First National bank in Johannesburg CBD after I
matriculated. My Husband ( then boyfriend) came with me and we only lasted
8 years (bloody miracle), and are now living in Australia with our too
awesome Children, Abigail 11, and Sullivan 6. I work for an Engineering
company, surrounded by paperwork- sorting out the admin side of things!!

Hi, I'm Erika Grzebisz, should have been class of 1995. Moved back to the UK in 1993, what a shocker
that was!! Later I spent six and a half years living and working in Heidelberg,
Germany. Recently moved to sunny California, USA. Living in "The OC"

Graham Pearson. Class of 1990. Over the last fifteen years many
things have happened. I joined the SA National Defence Force and continued my
interest in pre-hospital care (first aid) by becoming an Operational Medic. I
moved up the ranks to the rank of Lieutenant and I resigned in 2004. I started
my own first aid training school and ambulance service in 1994 during my stint
in the military. Last year I was voted to represent the Emergency Care
Practitioners (Paramedics & Ambulance staff) on the Health Professions

very spoilt pooches who came with us
from SA when we emigrated to America 6 years ago. Both myself and hubby are in the IT section of a bank - hence
the move here during the whole Y2K era!
Life in the US is most definately different and the winters here
can be kinda harsh (high temp today is -15
degrees Celcius). It's all relative
though once you get down to it! We love skiing so at least we get to do that
during winters! Have settled in quite nicely though and we do get the
opportunity now to travel extensively. Reading through the various
messages has certainly brough back some
memories and some faces! If anyone feels like contacting me I would love to

the studies were interfering with my social life so left and joined the Defence
Force in 92. A year later I decide to join the Recconnaisance Unit just to see
if I could make the grade, and i so happend that I made it. I worked in some
interesting places and met some interesting people through the 10 year period,
I am still with the Regiment and kicking ass. Not married yet but having great

What I've been doing since then: Since I
was so quiet in school, many people who knew me would have difficulty believing
I had a 'rebellious' phase. It happened after the army. I became a punk and spent many a year of my
life in notorious dives in central
Johannesburg, partying up a storm and doing the occasional DJ session in
various 'alternative' nightclubs. Anyway, that out of my system, I have since
settled down. After working in the restaurant business for many years, I went
on to be an editor and art director for a comic book publishing company in
South Africa, and wrote and illustrated an ongoing comic strip in Penthouse
magazine. (To all those people in standard 10b who laughed at me for drawing
comics in my notebooks, I gotta tell ya it was a very lucrative field... which
lead to me living in the USA for a while, working with some of the top comic
book companies like Marvel and DC.) Right now I am the Head Graphic Designer
and web developer for an Internet company in the UK. I live and work in the
Thames Valley, which is to the west of London. I am married (to a medical

Hi, my name is Charlie Anderson. I attended Bracken High in it's
very early days 81-83. I never matriculated from Bracken High as my family
returned to the UK in 1983, but I have great memories of the school. I am
married to Karin and have a wee boy, Zack, aged 3. I now work in Edinburgh as
