One of the first commercials I used Softimage XSI for.
The camera flys through a microscopic landscape and passes into the molecular level.
The render tree in XSI let me very easily build a shader which had the right look,
something I could not have done with Soft3D half as easily.
Mentalray's new displacement mapping makes it much more useable for generating lots of 'noisy' geometry like in this shot.
All of these shapes are simple cylinder and sphere shapes.
