This  race series  is open to  almost any  form of single seater racing car such as Formula V,
Formula Ford , Formula Gti and single seater  Specials and Classics. Race events are particularly  targeted at bringing back all those single seater racecars that are no longer catered for in national race programs such as air cooled Formula V's and older and perhaps not so competitive Formula Fords and Formula GTi's. Historics and Classic single seaters are also welcome. Events consist of 2 heats , with both heats being scored in Class Time groups as well as Index of Performance .
There are thus plenty of opportunities to be a winner in Formula Libre!

Experts believe that there are more than 100 single seater racing chassis  in SA such as older Formula Atlantic's, Formula Fords , Formula GTi's and Formula V's  which are currently not being raced. These cars have little commercial value and can often be purchased at a bargain price when compared with the price of a new single seater. This is the reason why Formula Libre is one of the fastest growing categories in Club Motorsport.
