Today, Feb 9, Dam Rail CC successfully negotiated an employment agreement with the community leaders of the Popo Molefe Informal Settlement on the north east side of Hartebeespoort to roster workers for the line. This will boost our workforce from 5 to 8 - 10. As of today we have opened up 15 km of track and are running an average of 5 trips per weekend.

These pictures show the striking impact of a private 5 man crew working from a dissused 1920's road crossing, under the searing African sun for 2 days to open, in this case, 2 km of line from Xanadu, north-east. Sometimes the same crew have opened only 30 mtrs of neglected track in a weekend.
